A familiar rule with new decisions
Rift 21 starts with familiar twenty-one arithmetic, then changes the value of each choice through the circuit receiving the card. The aim is a strategic card roguelite, not a recreation of casino blackjack.
Three circuits create parallel decisions. Exact totals create high-value moments, while the run economy determines how aggressively the player can build around them.
Powers that feel collectible
Charms are illustrated power cards with distinct roles rather than generic upgrade tiles. Card Imprints alter individual cards, creating another layer of commitment within a run.
Booster rewards are presented as sealed sleeves rather than another row of shop items, giving each opening a clear sense of anticipation and hierarchy.
What the team is working on next
Current work is focused on making routing, exact totals, powers, and scarce currency readable without slowing the run.
Balance, content volume, art production, platforms, monetization, and release timing will be announced as those decisions are confirmed.
